Senior Data Science and Analytics Analyst — Open.Canada.ca | TBS | OCIO (Jan 2023 - Present)

  • Leading product analytics for the open government portal having built out a significant analytics capacity across the descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics domains.

  • Playing a leadership role in the GC Data Community, maturing open data publishing across the 120+ organizations and supporting departments to release high quality, documented, API enabled datasets.

  • Led the development and delivery of a results data platform, tracking KPIs for the Open Data Program which ensures metrics reported in DPR/RPPs, Service Inventory, etc. are recomputed and tracked on a daily basis, providing ready-access to current metrics from a single source of truth at Treasury Board Secretariat. As well equipping all other GC Institutions with a suite of reports and data products so they are setup for success in measuring and communicating open data and transparency performance.

Product Owner - Open.Canada.ca | TBS | OCIO (Dec 2020 - Jan 2023)

  • Served as Product Owner for Open.Canada.ca, ensuring delievery of business objectives by effectively selecting and sequencing feature development, in an Agile-Scrum context. Engaged internal and external stakeholders to analyze requirements and product opportunities, in order to curate my medium and longterm product roadmap.
  • Delivered several high quality data related training sessions to audiences of over 400 people in subject areas such as API Usage, Best Practices for Releasing Open Data, and Applying Web Accessibility Principles to Open Data.
  • Sat as a member of several GC wide data science and data management committees and working groups such as the R for GC working group, Enterprise Data Community of Practice, Reference Data Management Working Group, and the Data Science Competencies Working Group.

Advisor - Open Government | TBS | OCIO (April 2017 - Dec 2020)

  • Led user acceptance testing on a number of projects relating to the Open Government Portal, including designing all test cases, generating test data, coordinating completion of testing, and coordinating post-test bug resolution.
  • Worked as part of an agile development team contributing to the code base for Open.Canada.ca using standard tools for open source development including GitHub.

Policy Analyst and Junior Project Manager - Web Renewal Initative | TBS | OCIO (Jan 2015 - April 2017)

  • Served as a key member of the Project Management Office during the Government of Canada Web Renewal Initiative, which moved more than 50 GC Departments on to Canada.ca from a web of different legacy websites.

  • Served as an Air Defence Artilleryman in 1AD Petawawa, then as a Field Artillery Gunner in 30th FD RCA Ottawa,
  • Then commissioned as a Field Artillery Officer, primarily serving in W Battery then 1st Regiment, Royal Canadian Horse Artillery in Shilo MB
